
Pauline Burt is a distinguished consultant, financier and industry leader with more than 30 years experience across the creative and financial sectors.
Awarded an MBE in 2024 for services to film, Pauline has been a driving force in promoting systemic change, advancing inclusive practices and fostering environmental sustainability.
She is an Associate of the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) and Advisory Board Member of the Arts and Humanities Research Council where her interest in innovation led her to take on the role of Committee Chair for UKRI’s inaugural Proof of Concept Fund.
Pauline’s extensive international experience is a cornerstone of her career. Around a third of the more than 100 feature films she has facilitated have been international co-productions. Her credits include critically-acclaimed and award-winning projects, including:

These films reflect Pauline’s deep commitment to diversity, with a strong focus on international collaborations, female filmmakers, LGBT+, race and ethnicity representation, and disability advocacy.
As the founding CEO ofFfilm CymruWales, Pauline was instrumental in transforming the Welsh screen sector. She oversaw the financing and production of 95 feature films with local talent at their helm and with budgets exceeding £120 million.
She leveraged a 1000% increase in corporate turnover and established a resilient and sustainable screen industry in Wales that was able to capitalise on its own intellectual property, moving beyond its previous servicing focus.
Her strategic vision, international perspective, and ability to leverage funding from diverse sources, including government bodies, private equity, and international agencies, have been instrumental in shaping the future of the sector. Pauline’s influence extends beyond production into the policy realm, where she has been an active member of CineRegio, the European creative industries network.
As a Board member of CineRegio, she played a key role in shaping, sharing and advocating for policies and initiatives that supported the growth and sustainability of the European screen sector. Her involvement in this network underscores her commitment to fostering international collaboration and advancing the creative industries on a global scale.
In her role as Company Director at Script to Screen, Pauline provides consultancy services focused on systemic change and financial resilience within the creative industries. Her recent work includes strategic and investment planning for a leading black-led film, TV, and games company, advancing a ‘double bottom-line’ approach to support company growth, empower talent, and prioritise wellbeing.
Pauline’s work emphasises the development of brand strategies, content, and programmes that especially benefit underrepresented talent, ensuring that world-class content reaches diverse audiences across multiple platforms.
Pauline’s expertise extends into commercial finance, having previously served as a Risk Manager at Mansfield Associates, where she managed a £500 million international lending portfolio for major international banks, insurers and private funds. This experience has endowed her with a deep understanding of financial strategies and risk management, which she now leverages to help creative businesses achieve sustainable growth.
